As a heart disease survivor this walk means everything to me and my family. Without the efforts of the American Heart Association, lifesaving research, research in which I benefit daily, would not exist. Born with a congenital heart defect I have had a lifelong journey with heart disease. After giving birth to my son, my story took an unexpected turn when I was diagnosed with heart failure. Each year I walk in celebration of my journey, to thank everyone that has supported me through the years, and to support the AHA and all of the efforts associated with the fight against heart disease and stroke.
