I walk in loving memory of my dad, Ray Kurpe, who battled heart disease for 27 years.
My dad had his first heart attack at the incredibly young age of 33. Shortly afterward he had his first triple-bypass open heart surgery. 20 years later he passed out in an airport. With only 10% of one artery still open, my dad miraculously survived his second triple-bypass open heart surgery. It was at that time he was diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure.
Congestive Heart Failure is a progressively debilitating disease in which the heart continuously loses strength and becomes less able to pump blood through the body.
Congestive Heart Failure is what led to his final heart attack on December 29, 2011.
I walk because it was so difficult for my dad to walk.
I raise money to help prevent others from suffering the way that he suffered.
I love and miss you, Daddy!
