9/5 marks my dad’s 10 year anniversary of his first heart attack and four months since my mom was notified by her Fitbit of an irregular heartbeat that could have provoked serious complications, like a stoke. She had no prior indications that she had any cardiovascular issues.
We are so blessed that the three musketeers had two musketeers who would not dismiss the warning signs and sought medical attention immediately. My parents each could have easily become stats but because of lifesaving procedures, medical advances, education and strong links in the chain of survival that the American Heart Association has been a trailblazer for our family is stronger than ever. Life could have looked so much differently for my family if we were not whole.
I’m writing to my network tonight to please consider donating to the American Heart Association. Your donation gives hope to families like mine so we can spend more time and celebrate more family milestones together. A mother of an amazing pediatric survivor family that I have had the privilege of working with in my role recently shared with me, “let the research already be there”. Life can change in a moment but let’s ensure we are equipping the medical community with strong solutions so our loved ones don’t become a stat.
Thank you for your consideration of this special request. Any gift you might consider is greatly appreciated. Please click the link in my profile to donate today. I hope to see you at the Ashtabula, Lorain or Cleveland Heart Walk in the coming weeks.
