I have been so lucky to work at the American Heart Association for 13 years. I have seen the impact this organization makes everyday.
This year is extra special...in June we will be celebrating our 100th Anniversary. In 1924, six cardiologists knew that if we could understand heart disease better, then we could find ways to treat, beat and even prevent it. Doing so would require research, vision, teamwork – and an organization bringing it all together. A century later, our organization has greatly expanded its scope, yet we’ve remained committed to what our founders envisioned: saving, improving and extending lives.
This year's Omaha Heart and Stroke Walk will be a celebration of the work we have accomplished, the dollars we have raised and the work we are going to accomplish in the next 100 years!
