To My friends and family,
I've registered for the 2022 Twin Cities Heart Walk on May 21 and made a commitment to raise money to keep hearts beating. I've set my goal at $500. I am asking for your support. Last year I walked a mile. This year, I have been in training to prepare for this year’s event. My goal is to walk 5 miles.
A little bit about why I am doing this walk. I lost my father to a heart attack on September 25, 2002. The day before my birthday. That changed my birthday’s forever. Before that we lost his brother and his dad both over different Thanksgiving holidays. My mom had a heart attack a few years ago. Her mother died from a stroke.
What I have learned is that heart disease doesn’t care who it takes. Doesn’t care what age you are. Doesn’t care who it hurts. But we have within our power to make changes. Better food choices, exercise and donating to the American Heart Association so they can continue to do research on this deadly disease. Please donate whatever you can. Thank you.
