This year, I’m walking in the American Heart Association Heart Walk as part of my workplace team. While it’s a great opportunity to connect with colleagues, for me, this walk is deeply personal.
Heart disease has impacted my family in significant ways. About 20 years ago, my grandmother survived an emergency triple bypass surgery—a moment that left a lasting impression on all of us. More recently, this past winter, my mom experienced a heart attack and underwent emergency surgery to have a stent placed. She is now learning to live with heart failure, facing each day with strength and determination.
I walk for them—for my mom, my grandma, and for every family affected by heart disease. By participating in this walk, I hope to raise awareness, support life-saving research, and encourage others to take heart health seriously. Walking side by side with my mom this year makes this journey even more meaningful.
Thank you for supporting me and this cause that means so much to my family.
