Hello Facebook friends. In case you haven't noticed I've been a non participant on Facebook lately. I had a bit of a health scare October 31st while on the racquetball court with a friend of mine Rod Greenwood. Long story short he drove me to Mercy Andrerson Hospital where they determined I had had a minor heart attack and 6 days later I had triple bypass surgery performed by Dr. Buckley and his remarkable team. This came as a complete shock to Shelley and me as I had every box but one checked as a low risk heart issue contractor.
I set some goals for myself for the coming year of which I've already achieved my goal of coming back to work 3 weeks after surgery. My next goal is to start my cardiac rehab this week, followed by playing racquetball again before my 60th birthday on 3/2 and then participating in the Heart Mini Marathon 5K on 3/13.
Shelley and I will be walking/running the 5K together and the last time she participated 20 years ago she finished in the top 10 of her age group. Hopefully I won't slow her down too much.
