I walk because I am a survivor. My story started when I was born. Pulmonary Stenosis which meant the pulmonary valve was not wide enough for the blood to flow. Open heart surgery at age 1, Mild heart attack at age 21 (corrected with medication), valve failing at age 32 while pregnant, and finally hybrid heart surgery for valve replacement at age 43.
So you want to know why I walk. I do it for me, my family and my friends. There are so many people out there that suffer from congenital heart disease, and stroke. What is worse, most of them is because of the genes of the family.
Walking can also reduce stress, clear your mind and boost your mood. Key factors to help fight this disease.
