I'm walking this year for all the people in my life that have died from cardiac related issues and for those survivors that are still with us, recovering and managing their cardiac disease. American Heart has been a part of those success stories, promoting heart health, CPR and telling us how to recognize the symptoms. Too many (9 out of 10) people who suffer cardiac arrest outside the hospital die. We need to change this stat.
Cardiac arrests happen at work, in homes, on athletic fields and in neighborhoods everywhere, and the readiness of our community can be the difference between life and death. We need to be ready to help ourselves and those around us. Learn CPR techniques and early warning signs, it could be the difference in a successful outcome!
Join in the walk, it'll be fun and informative as well as good heart exercise!
