This year I'm walking for my best friend, my dad.
If you know me, you probably know I've had my fair share of cardiovascular issues. I had 4 heart surgeries between middle and high school. Throughout my health struggles, my dad has always been my biggest supporter. Unfortunately, now it's time to be his supporter.
About 2 weeks ago, my dad had a massive heart attack. After the most terrifying couple of hours in my life, we were told that he had complete blockage of his left anterior descending artery.
Thankfully, my dad is recovering and doing great!
I am also fortunate to work at a healthcare system which works so closely in researching cardiovascular disease. The American Heart Association provides over $21M in research funding to Northwestern Medicine and has awarded NM 5 Strategically Focused Research Network grants.
From a young age, my life, education, and career has been dedicated to helping those in need - with hopes of one day seeing a world free of heart disease and stroke. But it's not just my efforts alone that will help us get there. I am walking with a team of heart heros because together, we will have an even greater impact. And you can help us change the world, one step at a time, by donating to my fundraiser.
Your donation will fund groundbreaking research that keeps hearts beating and helps people enjoy longer, healthier lives. I can't do it alone.
Please help me now by donating. Because every step counts. And together we are helping save lives!
Have a heart and help me reach my goal today!
