Hola Awesome-Heart-Walkers Friends,So, I signed up to be a coach for this year's Heart Walk, representing Kettering Health Miamisburg's Team (Dayton, OH). It is my 1st time ever and I am nervous. My goal is to have at least 20 ppl on my team and/or raise $400+. I'm planning just to walk, however, runners are welcome.
You can join or help from where you are! No need to live in the wonderful Ohio Land. The reasons I want to do this are:1. I want to prove to myself that I can do this. My self-confidence was shaken badly last year by all the health issues I had, especially after dealing with 20 days of sepsis. Although I always choose to smile, my self-confidence needs a nice boost. And doing this to help others will be a blessing for me (emotionally & spiritually), and my community.2. On 2 occasions I had stroke symptoms. At those times (4 years ago), I didn't have health insurance and as an Immigrant, I didn't have the knowledge I have today. That means, that my current story could be totally different. During those times, fear embraced me. I even had to learn how to talk and walk again. Depended on family and friends to help me do anything and everything. Thru this campaign, I want to be able to be of support to someone who has experienced or currently experiencing heart/general health issues. Let's save lives One Heart / One Step at a time!3. As an immigrant, I know that the Power & Value of One Dollar - $1 - is huge (In the past, my family and I got to a point where we didn't even have $1 for anything, and many came to our rescue). So, if we all come together as a community and share the blessing of at least $1+ thru the Heart Walk, we will be an amazing blessing to many.I will love it if you can/want/are able to participate, either joining my Team to walk or run or adding $1+ to my campaign bucket.
