As some of you know, my Dad had a heart attack and double bypass surgery at the young age of 41. His dedication and commitment to a heart healthy diet and exercise has always been my biggest inspiration to live a healthy lifestyle.
In addition to his own efforts, ground-breaking medical treatments that became available to him, including new medicine, an implantable defibrillator and pacemaker, and two cardiac ablation procedures, helped him reach the age of 85 - something that none of us (including him!) ever anticipated. Even his own doctors called him a medical miracle. But these medical interventions were only available to him because of research made possible from donations to the American Heart Association.
This year, I will be walking in memory of my Dad, who passed away on May 8, 2024. Your donation will fund groundbreaking research that literally keeps hearts beating and helps people like my Dad live longer, healthier lives. Have a heart and help me reach my goal today!
