I walk for my Dad, a survivor of heart failure. When he faced a life-threatening cardiac event, the amazing team of Doctors at the University of Kansas Health System stepped in and saved his life. Their expertise, dedication, and cutting-edge care gave my family more time together, during a time we were already experiencing the loss of our Mother.
I walk because I know firsthand the impact that research, education, and compassionate care can have. The work of the American Heart Association fuels the medical advancements that gave my Dad a second chance, and I want to ensure that others receive the same life-saving treatment. Every step we take is a step toward healthier hearts and stronger futures.
This is why I walk - for my dad, for every family, and for a future free of heart disease.
