Join me in supporting the American Heart Association!
I am a member of Team242, a group of friends who host an annual bicycle ride in memory of Dave Browne, who passed away from heart disease. 2021 marks Team242's 19th campaign & this year we are riding in Wisconsin to spread awareness about heart disease and stroke, while raising money for the AHA.
Andy Boryczka and Karen Nissen-Boryczka, the fearless leaders of Team242, are like family to me, and when they invited me to join Team242 a few years back my connection to heart disease was not personal.
Fast forward to December 2015, it became pretty personal when my step dad, Bill, underwent open-heart surgery and I moved home for 5 weeks to be his caregiver (he is doing well now...I encourage him to eat oatmeal...he doesn't listen).
Unfortunately, since 2015, my connection to heart disease has deepended; I have had three of my grandparents experience heart health issues including Atrial fibrillation, stent procedures for blocked arteries, and complications due to COPD.
After a crazy year living in a pandemic, leading a quality life is more important now than ever. The AHA supports life saving research to ensure we can all live healthy/quality lives.
Please help me support a team, a community, and my family by donating today!
