For those of you that know me, the reason why I walk is personal. I was born with two holes in my heart. The medical terminology is Tetralogy of Fallot. I have had 3 open heart surgeries. I'm 43 years old and living a healthy and happy life. I wouldn't be where I am today without the help of many. It's much bigger then my family, doctors, and nurses. Its donations from people like you that have moved the needle on research, innovation and technology and saved my life.
I made the decision a long time ago not to let my heart issue define my life. I love using a platform like the Heart Mini or the American Heart Association to share with others how living with Tetralogy of Fallot has been a blessing. And how you can live a normal life.
Even though my story is personal there are many others out there just as special as mine. Heart disease doesn't discriminate and many lives have been impacted. One life is too many.
As many would agree 2020 was dreadful, but I think it has to be said I have learned so much. I learned how the importance of health (including exercising and nutritution) and the importance of family and sacrific. I want to put what I have learned and experience to good use.
I want to make a difference. And when combined with a million other Heart Walk Heroes across the nation, togther we have an even greater impact toward curing heart disease and stroke.
Your donation will fund groundbreaking research that literally keeps hearts beating and helps people have longer, healthier lives.
Have a heart and help me reach my goal today!
