Why We Walk
2020 Metro Chicago Heart Walk Digital Experience
College of Nursing
Here at Rush College of Nursing we are proud to support the American Heart Association by participating in the Heart Walk, and we want to share that we are still committed to efforts during this virtual year.
As the health needs of our community are greater than ever, AHA has kept their continued focus on health equity in our community. The American Heart Association has swiftly responded to address COVID-19 by providing resources, research, advocacy, and much more. Additionally, COVID 19 has put a spotlight on the already existing health disparities in our community. The AHA has championed health equity for all people for nearly a century, and they are more determined than ever to eliminate racial and class disparities heightening their focus on overcoming barriers to health and social inequities. The AHA is focused on creating and supporting sustainable solutions to the underlying social determinants of health challenges that are causing the COVID-19 virus, heart disease, and other chronic illness to disproportionately impact communities on the West and South Side of Chicago. Together let's unify in this moment to support a single goal: to see a world free of heart disease and stroke.
Be a Heart Walk Hero with us and together we’ll help save lives.
