Why We Walk
2021 Kansas City Heart & Stroke Walk
We’re walking for all of the kiddos and families affected by congential heart defects, just like my younger brother, Joey. He had open heart surgery at just 6 months old in 1990. Thanks to the advances in research from the American Heart Association, the doctors and surgeons at Children's Mercy saved his life. Who will you walk for?
Heart disease is the No. 1 killer worldwide and stroke ranks second globally. Congential Heart Defects is one of the most common types of birth defects in children AND adults, sometimes resulting in heart issues and stroke. Please join our team or donate today and help us change this statistic.
The Heart Walk is a time of celebration, joy and inspiration. People unified in support of a single goal: to see a world free of heart disease and stroke.
Be a Heart Walk Hero with us and together we’ll help save lives, just like my brother, Joey.
