"Dane's Home" is a phrase I say to myself almost daily.  It’s a centering two words that remind me of what matters most and what might not have been.    

My son, Dane, on his path to becoming a rockstar, tough as nails, four-year-old has endured a handful of open heart surgeries, medical flights, hospital stays, and countless procedures/appts in his young life.  Born with numerous, compounding congenital heart defects, having “Dane Home” was far from promised.  He and his hospital mates are the strongest kids I’ve ever seen!  Like many parents in my position, there were wins and losses along the way, but the true measure of success is having your child home and healthy.

While raising awareness and funding on heart related disease and tech is certainly a key initiative, events like this are a bit more personal.  It’s a chance to stop, celebrate, and remind myself that “Dane’s Home.”
