I fundraise for research and treatment of the leading killer of humans in the world. Heart disease accounted for 21% of all deaths in 2020, and this number is increasing by drastic amounts every year. In 2021, 1 in every 4 deaths was caused by cardiovascular disease. Scientists, researchers, and doctors are working diligently to reduce disability and death caused by this devastating disease; the only way they can do so is through the money they receive from fundraising efforts like this. 

I was born with an atrial septal defect and valvar pulmonic stenosis that required open-heart surgery to fix at age four. This is why I became a Go Red for Women Ambassador for the American Heart Association in 2022. I hope to bring awareness about the importance of heart health along with sharing my experiences. 

I fundraise for a brighter tomorrow, so one-day heart disease won't account for 25% of deaths in the United States alone. I fundraise for all of the people suffering from cardiovascular disease right now, and for the scientists, researchers, and doctors working to develop lifesaving educational programs and medical breakthroughs. Finally, I fundraise because I believe every infant, child, and adult deserves to live a long healthy life. The change starts with us. Show your heart, be the change.
