I run because I know that with every step, I’m making a difference in someone’s life.  And when combined with a million other Heart Walk Heroes across the nation, we have an even greater impact toward curing heart disease and stroke. My brother, Jimmy aka Francis, passed away unexpectedly on November 14 of a sudden cardiac “event”.  We do not know if it was a heart attack or a sudden cardiac arrest. What we do know is that he had been in the care of medical personnel after suffering a cardiac event a little over a year and half ago. Doctors were never able to pinpoint what happened to him.  Continued research and investment in education will hopefully spare others the loss of someone so unexpectedly. While the team is named after one of many names we called Jimmy, Francis, I also run for all those affected by heart disease, cardiac events, and stroke- including other friends and family.
