At 35 years of age, I suffered a 100% blockage of my left anterior descending artery.  This type of cardiac event is often called a "widow maker," something I learned years later.  As I sat in the back of the ambulance my mind reeled wondering if I would see my wife and two young children ever again.

Thanks to the rapid action of first responders, an amazing medical team, and the lifesaving work of the AHA I am still alive and thriving.  In 2019 I suffered by second heart attack, this time I had two arteries partially blocked.  Yet again the quick action of first responders, a fantastic medical team and again the lifesaving research supported from the AHA saved my life a second time.

I walk because I know that with every step, I’m making a difference in someone’s life, just as it had been made in mine. And when combined with a million other Heart Walk Heroes across the nation, we have an even greater impact toward curing heart disease and stroke. Will you be a Heart Walk Hero with me?
