The significance behind our team name: Team Iron Man!! is in honor of the team captain's dad, Rob Russ, who had a quadruple bypass surgery/CABG in September 2016.  He, luckily, was given a second cahnce at life with a healthy heart, where we coined him with the nickname of Iron Man, like the superhero that was given a second chance with a new heart. 

Rob is a true hero and has helped make his family aware and educated about both heart disease and stroke, which is important to know about and help prevent by having a healthy lifestyle and other aspects. 

In addition, with this team, we honor and remember our loved ones, the late Barbra Smith, Bob Russ, and Todd Zwilling, who unfortunately have passed away from heart disease and/or a stroke.  With our team effort of fundrasing and spreading awareness, we can help keep hearts beating nationwide!

Plus, we can celebrate the lives saved and come to honor the lives lost from heart disease and stroke.
