This organization is very near and dear to my heart, just 6 short years ago, my daughter was born with a congenital heart defect (CHD). As you can imagine, this came as a shock! After 6 days of being in the NICU, she was rushed to Advocate Children's Hospital in Oak Lawn. Within 24 hours, she was diagnosed with a rare heart defect and required emergency open heart surgery. After finally coming home following a 45-day hospital stay, we learned that she had to have a second open heart surgery. Thankfully, my daughter is now thriving and healthy!

This experience has opened my eyes to all of the individuals and families that have gone through traumatic health events, such as my own. I am also thankful for the Ronald McDonald House for providing a stress-free living, home away from home for me.
