It's almost time for team Hearts 4 Joel to do the Heart Walk again this year! Why do we walk? Because we are still here and CAN, to spend time with friends and family, to raise money for a great cause and honor and remember Joel. Our son, Joel died at 18 years old from sudden cardiac death. We never saw it coming. But had we witnessed Joel being in need of CPR we could have possibly saved his life. 9 out of 10 people who suffer cardiac arrest outside the hospital die. In most of those cases, bystander CPR was not performed. But we can change this. CPR education is just one of the many things that the funds raised from this walk support. Every walker who joins, every dollar donated, means more people trained in lifesaving CPR, more research and more lifesaving moments for everyone.
