Heart health affects me more than most people and that's why I'm very passionate about fundraising for heart disease awareness.

Levi was born with CHD - approximately 1 in 100 babies are born with a congenital heart defect (CHD), making it the most common type of birth defect. He was born with Dextrocardia, Transposition of the Great Arteries, VSDs, Pulmonary Stenosis, and Superior-Inferior Ventricles. He's had 2 open-heart surgeries and 1 catheterization.

Lane has an idiopathic 2:1 heart block and his heart rate sits right around mid-50s. He is closely monitored by Cardiology and Electrophysiology and may require a pacemaker as he gets older which we are hoping he will not.

My cousin Ella was born with Tetralogy of Fallot and so far has had one open-heart surgery as a baby.

Most recently my dad passed away from a massive heart attack in his sleep. A few months after that my uncle suffered a heart attack at work and had to have quadruple bypass surgery.

2 of my other uncles have also had quadruple bypass surgery.

2 more of my uncles (not the same ones) and 1 cousin have passed away from heart attacks.

I myself suffer with Inappropriate Sinus Tachycardia.

Heart disease is real and scary. And can be sudden. And I've learned a lot this year as a wake up call to truly take care of my body and my health.
