Walk to Save Lives!
Every Step Counts: Join Me in the Fight Against Heart Disease and Stroke
I walk because I believe that each step can save a life. Heart disease and stroke affect us all, and together, we can make a difference.
In 2019, my sons Matthew and Jacob lost their father, Gerson Samuel Rosario, to heart disease at the tragically young age of 48 Gerson was a distinguished Army Commendation Medal Award recipient, National Defense Service Medal recipient, Southwest Asia Service Medal recipient with 2 Bronze Service Stars, and Humanitarian Service Medal recipient for his service in the United States military. I will always remember taking the call on the 17th floor of 1 Bell at AT&T. Frozen with shock, I was unable to drive. I am forever grateful to my colleague, Kristie Voight, who drove me around the city of Dallas to find my son Jacob, who was at school when it happened. This loss has fueled my determination to support the fight against these devastating conditions.
I walk to create awareness for heart disease and to honor Gerson's memory. On Saturday, September 21st, I will walk to advocate and bring awareness to the #1 killer in America.
