I walk because I know that with every step, I am saving lives.
We're all tied to heart disease and stroke in some way. We have to change that. For me, it’s my uncle who died of a heart attack when I was young. It’s my only brother who was healthy as horse dying in 2009 at the age of 52 of a heart attack on Christmas Day. And now…now it’s me as of last week. I am now under the care of a cardiologist. Several weeks ago I began having chest discomfort while walking. Not necessarily pain, but something wasn’t right. My EKG shows mild ST depression. I go in this week for further testing including a nuclear stress test. My story isn’t over…it’s to be continued.
