Almost two years ago, my brother convinced our siblings to celebrate Mother's Day with my mom the Sunday before the actual holiday because it was the only day he could be in town. Little did we know at the time what a blessing it would be to have all six kids together with her on THAT day instead of Mother's Day, as less that a week later, she had a massive stroke that took her life.
My mom was a gifted artist across multiple mediums, including pottery, sculpture and painting. She was especially gifted in painting portraits of people and could capture likenesses as well as Rembrandt. She was goofy, she loved to have fun, and her house was the hub of activity throughout our lives.
I have signed on to help raise money for this cause in memory of my wonderful mom, Karen. Thank you for any amount you are able to give to fighting heart disease and stroke!
