The American Heart Association celebrated 100 years in June, and for 20 of those years I have been a part of the growth and change of our organiztion to reach as many people as possible about the risk factors of heart disease and stroke, to provide funding for research to improve patent care and initiate change at the community level.
I walk to honor and celebrate my family and friends who have been affected by heart disease and stroke. Because I know that with every step, I’m making a difference in someone’s life. And when combined with a million other Heart Walk Heroes across the nation, we have an even greater impact toward curing heart disease and stroke.
