In August 2016, my husband John, during his annual routine check up was diagnosed as having experienced a heart attack, and he did not even know it. He thought it was just normal to have shortness of breath when climbing stairs and doing strenuous activities. He actually had blockages in four of his major arteries, with one of them 100% blocked. Thank God for American Heart Association's research and breakthroughs, his doctor immediately scheduled him for two stent procedures (one per week, with each session lasting for almost 4 hours) to address all the blockages. This explains why the mission of the AHA has become even more personal to me.
Right now, someone you love may be in danger of a heart attack or stroke. Our company the American Heart Association fights to find new treatments to save lives, and to become a relentless force for a world of longer, healthier lives.
