I walk for my father and so many others who are impacted by heart conditions.
When I was 18 years old, I came home from a night out with friends and heard what I thought was snoring from my parent's bedroom, these snores were followed by my mother's panicked voice. I ran in to find my father not breathing. My mother called 911 while I dragged him to the floor to perform CPR. It took EMS 7 mins to arrive at our home and shock him back to life. We were lucky, he had survived Sudden Cardiac Death.
After years of struggling with defibrillator complications, my father was fortunate to recieve a heart transplant in 2021. Today he struggles with the complications of antirejection drugs. The funding and research provided by the American Heart Association is essential to improving survival rates and quality of life for those who suffer from heart disease. Please join me in fundraising for this endeavor!
