I was born with a heart defect (double outlet right ventricle - DORV). My first open heart surgery was at 14-week old. I had a few cardiac catheterization procedures throuhgout the years. When I was 6 yo, I suffered a stroke after a cath lab procedure (that's one of the risks). Luckily, only my speech was affected and minor impact on my fine motor skills; recovered in a short few months.
