Hi, I'm Danny-and I'm taking this step because heart disease isn't just a statistic to me; it's personal.
I live with type 2 diabetes, a condition that's quietly connected to heart health in ways many don't realize. Having diabetes increases the risk of heart disease and stroke-so for me, it's not just about managing blood sugar, it's about safeguarding my heart. On top of that, I've also been diagnosed with fatty liver disease. While it may sound like a separate issue, studies show it's often part of a bigger picture-one that includes metabolic health and cardiovascular risk.
Last year, I lost a close friend named Charles to heart disease. He wasn't just a name or a number-he was like family to me. His sudden passing was a heartbreaking reminder that this fight is urgent. It's for people like Charles, and for those of us living every day with conditions that put our hearts at risk, that I'm raising awareness and support.
The American Heart Association funds critical research, education, and advocacy to improve heart health across the country. With your help, we can honor the lives we've lost, protect the ones we love, and give hope to those of us still in this fight.
Thank you for reading my story, and for supporting a cause that's close to my heart.
