On January 4, 2025, my sister Arleena Till Shaw, died of a heart attack in her home at the age of 51. Twenty-two years ago, our father died of heart failure in his home when he was 60 years old.
Arleena's death was sudden and devastating and our family is trying to accept this traumatic loss.
If you wish to donate in my sister's memory I know that it would touch her as she was my biggest donor every year in memory of my father.
I have worked for the American Heart Association for over 20 years and I know personally how the funds are spent. I have met the survivors who credit our education and research for saving their lives.
