I am walking in support of my patients with heart disease that amaze me everyday with their perseverance and drive to improve their health after being diagnosed with heart disease and successfully treated. They are such an inspiration!
I am walking in memory of my father, pharmacist Bernard Johnson, who underwent cardiac bypass surgery in his 70's, recovered, and returned to work following his heart surgery. He retired at 81 years old!
I am also walking in memory of my father-in-law, William Herbert, who had a major heart attack on 6/30/19. He required extensive lifesaving care only made possible by the latest innovations in heart care.
None of this would be possible without lifesaving heart research supported by the American Heart Association.
