Nine out of 10 people who suffer a cardiac arrest outside of the hospital do not survive and in most cases, bystander CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation performed by someone who is not a healthcare provider) was not performed. But together we can change this!
Cardiac arrests happen at in schools, at work, in homes, on athletic fields and in neighborhoods everywhere. The crucial difference between life and death can be the readiness of our community and knowling what to do in that moment.
It is time to unite, take action, and save lives. Together. You and me. Every walker who joins and every dollar that is donated means more of the people we see and know on a daily basis are trained in lifesaving CPR. More research is available to help fight and eliminate heart disease. More tomorrows for our friends, familiy and loved ones.
Our theme this year is "We Walk to Save Lives". To help us meet our goal, community partner and HCA Conroe Board of Directors member, Dr. DeReese Reid-Hart, President of Lone Star College-Montgomery, will serve as our ambassador. Impacted by heart disease, she is passionate about community outreach and education and is happy to join us in the fight against this disease! Please help me reach my goal today by joining our team and donating towards our goal. Together, we can turn bystanders into lifesavers.
