9 out of 10 people who suffer cardiac arrest outside the hospital die. In most of those cases, bystander CPR was not performed. But we can change this.
February 2024, my mom, Sandra Mason, had cardiac catherization. All 3 of her bypass arteries were blocked. The only reason she did not have another heart attack was because she could not get enough oxygen or blood to her heart. Our only option was to have an experimental EECP Therapy to increase blood and oxygen flow into her heart. Sandra successfully completd therapy in 2024. She began EECP therapy again in February 2025. Unfortunately her therapy was successful, in March 2025, Sandra had another heart attack which took this bright shining star from our lives.
In honor of her legacy, I would love for everyone to donate to American Heart Association to continue their efforts to fund efforts to enhance and create more opportunities to save your loved ones. While I no longer have my best friend/mom, I would love to see you have more time to create memories with your loved ones and never experience this type of loss.
