I suffered a medullary stroke in February that set me on a long path to recovery. I've spent the last year learning how to walk again, and have had the opportunity to be a part of rehab programs at St. David's Rehabilitation Hosptial, Texas NeuroRehab Center and Centre for Neuro Skills. Today, I am able to walk without a device, and I am excited to keep moving forward. I'm beyond thankful to have the phsyical ability to participate in the Austin Heart & Stroke Walk, and if it weren't for the amazing rehabilitation programs and therapists who helped me along the way, my predicament could look a lot different. I will walk for all the fellow stroke survivors who I met along my recovery journey, who aren't able to be here to walk.
