I Walk Because It Saved My Mom’s Life.
Not long ago, my mom had to undergo a double heart bypass, a terrifying experience for our family. Thanks to skilled medical care and lifesaving procedures, she’s still with us today. I walk in honor of her strength, and in support of every family who might face something similar.
Every 9 out of 10 people who suffer a cardiac arrest outside the hospital don’t survive. In many of those cases, no one nearby knew how to perform CPR. But we can change that.
Cardiac arrests can happen anywhere, at home, at work, during a game, or on a quiet street. The difference between life and death is often just one person who knows what to do.
That’s why I’m joining the American Heart Association’s walk, to raise awareness, fund research, and help more people get trained in CPR. Every dollar raised brings us closer to a world where more people live to tell their stories, just like my mom.
Please consider supporting my walk. Together, we can save lives.
