2026 Did not start the way that I had planned. Last year, I was diagnosed with Lupus and with Raynaud's Syndrome. At the beginning of the year, I started having BP issues along with consistent episodes of Bradycardia (low heart ratet.) My BP would go from super high to super low but my heart rate stayed in the 40's. At first, everyone thought it was a complication from my Lupus but to me it felt different. I was referred to a cardiologist. Here I am, working for the AHA and spending a full month in and out of ER and hospital admissions. I have started blacking out and having major life struggles. If it weren't the work of the AHA in the way of education, I would have given up. The belief is that my heart may be damaged from long covid, we just don't know but I am not giving up. The walk is personal for me this year. I know what it is like to be a cardiac patient. It is dark and scary but then I remember AHA is a relentless force for longer and healthier lives and I am part of that. I am humbly asking you to consider making a donation to my team. I am a little over half way to my goal of $1,000. Any donation of any amount is welcome and appreciated! I walk because I know that with every step, I am saving lives and funding research to help myself, my dad, my daughter and you. I do this in remembrance of my dear friend Keith Magill and my grandmother, Dorothy.
Have a heart and help me reach my goal today.
