The 2026 Crossroads Heart & Stroke Walk is personal, y’all. My mom recently had a stroke, and it shook our world. Watching her fight her way back reminded me just how precious every heartbeat and breath truly is — and how important it is to be prepared.
Did you know that 9 out of 10 people who suffer cardiac arrest outside the hospital don’t survive? In most of those cases, bystander CPR wasn’t performed. And when it comes to strokes, every single minute matters — the faster we act, the better the chance of recovery.
Cardiac arrests and strokes happen at work, at home, on the field, and right in our own neighborhoods. The readiness of our community can mean the difference between life and death, between full recovery and lifelong struggle.
That’s why I’m walking — for my mom, for Roy, for Ofie, and for every family who’s faced the same fear. Every dollar donated helps train more people in CPR, fund stroke awareness and prevention programs, and bring lifesaving research to life.
Together, we can turn bystanders into lifesavers and prayers into miracles.
Help me reach my Heart Walk goal today — for loved ones and for hearts and brains everywhere.
