Denver Heart Walk Saturaday June 21st, 2025

This summer, I’m proud to walk in the American Heart Walk – Denver in memory of my father, who lived with heart disease for 23 courageous years. He faced every challenge with strength, hope, and love for his family. In 2014, we lost him unexpectedly to sudden cardiac arrest due to heart failure. His journey ignited my passion for cardiac care and continues to inspire everything I do—both personally and professionally.

I’ve spent the last 15 years as a cardiac nurse, walking beside countless patients and families through the highs and lows of chronic heart disease. From the bedside to the clinic, each experience has been a reminder of how strong, resilient, and determined the heart community truly is. As I walk, I carry the memory of not only my father but the many patients I’ve had the honor to care for over the years. Their stories, their courage, and their love for life deserve to be remembered and celebrated.

For the past 10 years, my work has focused on LVAD (Left Ventricular Assist Device) therapy—a life-changing treatment for patients with advanced heart failure. I’ve seen firsthand how these devices offer hope, extend lives, and reconnect people with the moments that matter most. LVADs are more than machines—they're bridges to LIFE, milestones, family gatherings, and second chances. I walk in recognition of the incredible LVAD patients and their families, who teach me daily what it means to live with heart, BATTERIES INCLUDED!!!
