I'm just a regular guy that knows a few people. Some of those people have been to a medical facility where a person in a lab coat told them they have had a “cardiac event”. You probably have similar circumstances to mine. This year I have chosen to take a walk with others that are advocating for and honoring those people.
That’s my story. The one thing that I would like you to consider is to learn CPR and get certified. It will probably consume less time than taking a walk. It might even take less time than reading this story. I hope you will never need to use it or have it performed on you. When the situation requires that someone do something it will always be much better than doing nothing or feeling helpless.
If you find yourself in the enviable position that you have unallocated funds that you are planning to give away, the AHA is well positioned to do great things with your resources. Or if you just like tax deductions, they do that too.
Are you still reading this? All the way to the end? You obviously have some time on your hands. Call your mom or sibling or kid or best friend from grade school. Tell them I said hi.
