Both my daughter, Ava, and my wife, Ann, have benefitted from the care of our amazing cardiologist teams in Arkansas.
Dr. Kevin Hinkle cared for Ava and guided our family when she was diagnosed with an ASD and VSD at birth. Dr. Lawrence Greiten then successfully completed open heart surgery at 6 months old to close the holes in her heart, and she is now perfectly healthy!
The day after Thanksgiving in 2024, Ann had a sudden stroke (at age 36). By the guidance and wisdom of the Washington Regional neurology and cardiology teams working together, we learned that her stroke was ultimately caused by a hole in her heart that had been there since birth. Dr. Salik Nazir was able to successfully complete a procedure to close the hole, and Ann is now 100% healthy!
While our family has been surprised with heart health challenges, we are so grateful for the work of the American Heart Association and for our amazing medical teams in Arkansas to support our families.
