For the past three years, I have been in and out of the hospital after being diagnosed with Nutcracker Phenomenon — a rare vascular condition that many people, including myself at first, had never heard of.
At 30 years old, it’s hard to relate my experience to others. Living with symptoms that can feel like heart attacks every other day changes how you see your health, your body, and your life. The closest comparison I can make is to those who live with serious heart conditions — because the fear, pain, and uncertainty can feel just as real.
Rare conditions often go unseen and misunderstood, but they are very real for the people living with them every day.
I’m sharing my story to bring awareness to our community — because awareness leads to understanding, earlier diagnosis, and better support for those silently struggling.
If you or someone you know is dealing with unexplained symptoms, keep advocating for answers. Your experience matters, and you are not alone.

9 out of 10 people who suffer cardiac arrest outside the hospital die. In most of those cases, bystander CPR was not performed. But we can change this.
