In 2021, I experienced every parent’s worst nightmare. I went to check on my son and found him unresponsive in his room. We later learned he had suffered cardiac arrest. In that moment, fear and shock took over, but thanks to the calm guidance of a 911 dispatcher, I was able to begin CPR while paramedics were on the way.

I truly believe that quick action helped save his life. That experience changed me forever. It not only strengthened my belief in the American Heart Association’s mission, but also inspired me to become CPR certified and encourage others to learn this lifesaving skill. CPR can make the difference between life and death.
