For the Love of my Dad -
The American Heart Association is a cause deeply personal to me.
In 1994, my father, Allan Meltzer, had a heart attack at just 56 years old. I was living across the country in San Francisco when I got the call that he had collapsed that morning. Thanks to a quick 911 call and immediate medical attention, my dad survived. His recovery was not easy, but today, nearly 32 years later, he is about to celebrate his 88th birthday. He's had the joy of seeing his five children married and welcoming eight grandchildren into the world. My family and I are profoundly grateful for every moment we've had with him.
Every year, 9 out of 10 people who suffer cardiac arrest outside a hospital do not survive; most often because no one nearby knew CPR. The American Heart Association is working to change this. Together, we can make sure at least one person in every North Texas household is prepared to perform Hands-Only CPR, turning bystanders into lifesavers. Your support can help ensure that more families, like mine, get the gift of more time together.
Today, I'm asking you to join me in supporting the American Heart Association. Your gift can help train more people in lifesaving CPR, fund groundbreaking research, and ensure more families have the chance to celebrate birthdays, weddings, and milestones together.
I have committed to raising at least $5,000 in support of the American Heart Association's lifesaving mission. I would be deeply grateful if you would join me with a gift to help save lives right here in our community.
Please give generously because every heartbeat matters.
