I’m walking in support of the American Heart Association because heart disease and stroke have impacted my family in deeply personal ways. When my mother suffered a stroke, we didn’t recognize the warning signs soon enough, and she didn’t receive care until 24 hours later. More recently, we lost my brother-in-law to cardiac arrest.
