Walking in Honor of My Dad
I’m walking this year with the American Heart Association in honor of my dad—the man whose life, love, and memory continue to shape who I am today.
I lost my dad when I was just 11 years old, far too young to fully understand the weight of losing a parent. But as I’ve grown older, I’ve come to realize that although his time with me was too short, the impact he made on my life was lasting.
This walk is more than just miles. Every step is a reminder of him. It’s a step toward honoring his memory, raising awareness about heart health, and helping prevent other families from experiencing the kind of loss that changed mine forever.
I walk for the little girl who had to grow up without her daddy.
I walk for the memories I still carry.
I walk for the love that never left.
And I walk with hope that fewer children will have to experience the heartbreak of losing a parent too soon.
Dad, I may not get to walk beside you, but I’ll carry you with me every step of the way.
This walk is for you, long live Touché...#ItisWELL
