In a heartbeat, you could be the difference.
Why I Walk
Hi, I’m Madison Clark, and for those who may not know my story, I underwent open-heart surgery in 2008. That experience will always be a part of who I am, and I’m incredibly grateful to be here today with the opportunity to share my story and support others affected by heart disease.
Although my first surgery was many years ago, my heart journey isn’t over. I am still a heart patient, and I know that eventually I will need another surgery to repair one of my heart valves. Living with that reality has given me an even deeper appreciation for life and for the importance of heart health, research, treatment, and support for patients and their families.
This year will be my first time participating in the American Heart Association Heart Walk in Dallas, and I’m so excited and honored to walk not only for myself, but for every heart patient, survivor, and family whose life has been impacted by heart disease.
I would be so grateful for your support as I work toward my fundraising goal. Every donation, share, and word of encouragement means more to me than you know. Together, we can help support the American Heart Association’s mission and give hope to people continuing their own heart journeys.
I walk because I’m grateful to still be here. I walk because I’m still fighting. And I walk for every heart patient who deserves more time.
Thank you for supporting me and my first Heart Walk!
